The postcard is dated 7 February 1916 and reads in full "Dear Mr Pond, My address is, Blanchard Hall, Los Angeles, Cal. Yours truly, Chas Chaplin. At the time of writing the postcard Chaplin was at the height of his fame and had began producing his own films as well as writing, directing and starring in them
