ALS of Victorian painter and illustrator Sir Frank Dicksee who was best known for his dramatic pictures of historical and legendary scenes. He also was a noted painter of portraits and although not a member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood many of Dicksee's paintings can be considered Pre-Raphaelite in style

The letter is on headed Greville House, Maida Vale notepaper and is dated Sept 22nd '27. Dicksee makes his apologies for a mix-up in his engagement book and complains of overwork and the lack of a secretary. Dicksee was to pass away a year later
