Mohandas Gandhi Autograph - black ink autograph of Mohandas Gandhi, who led India to independence from British rule, on an off-white sheet of folded hand made paper. Accompanied by a hand written note from Gandhi's private secretary Mahadev Desai who was a leading independence activist and nationalist writer. The note is written from Wardha and dated 10.10.35 and reads in full "Dear Friend, Here with I enclose Mr Gandhi's autograph. Your argument has some force, but it is not answerable. However I willingly yield. Yours truly Mahadev Desai". Gandhi's signature is extremely scarce in any form. An exceptional item with superb provenance
