King William IV Autograph Letter - a letter handwritten and signed by William IV who reigned from 1830-1837. William was   the third son of George III and was succeeded by his niece Victoria. The letter dates to February 1830 (a few months before William's accession) and reads:

'Dear Sir, After what has passed between you and me respecting Major Bell of the Royal Fusiliers I do not think at this present moment much can be effected in  favour of Captain Farquharson whose letter I enclose. But I still hope ultimately both officers will be promoted. I also enclose a letter from Miss --- which I will thank you to return. I am afraid her request respecting the remainder of her father's commission money is not to be procured. But you will inform me. I ever remain, Yours truly, William'
